Happy New 'EAR(S), everyone...

One year ago today, it was an eventful day to remember. Thanks to an anonymous person who gave us tickets to attend the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl where BSU (Boise State University) and OU (University of Oklahoma) were playing. We were former OKIEs and have been a fan of OU for years and Steve had season tickets to attend the games for years. It was the most excited game we have ever attended. As we were on the bus (all were BSU fans and all were on the same flights on roundtrips) heading to the tailgate party prior to the game, we overheard someone saying that Debbie must be an OU fan and we were amazed we could hear them without any visual clues. It is phenomenal how our brain picked up so abruptly. The most exciting moment was hearing all the cheering, whistle blowing, etc. and it gave us goosebumps.

In the picture below, you will see one of our nephews with OU face and clothing. Doesn't he looked so AWESOME in red and white? He cheered the entire game for OU. We thought for sure that OU was going to win this game but with overtimes BSU came back with more touchdowns. It was such an unbelievable game to watch. Were we disappointed? NO, as OU has had their share of wins and giving BSU an opportunity to win this BIG TITLE. Of course, our nephew was disappointed. He still wears his OU clothings and cap constantly. We gave him and his younger brother OU sweatshirt for Christmas again this year and they were so thrilled.

As we were heading back to our bus to return to our hotel, several BSU fans came to us as they were sorry that we (OU) didn't win the game. Debbie assured them we were from Boise and it was OK that OU lost their game. The town has been crazy and you see people in ORANGE and BLUE everywhere.

2007 has been a great year for both of us. This past July, we celebrated our 4 years of CI and we were upgraded to Harmony. We are very pleased with this advanced technology and it has enhanced our hearing. People have told us that we seem to be hearing much better. Lo and behold, our speech has made some huge improvement. Everyday is like Christmas to us.
